Woe betides propagandists and corruptors- Sheikh Eliya Al-Usriyyu
The Chief Imam of Banvim Tali Sheikh Eliyas Al-Usriyyu has caution politicians to be mindful of their deeds for whatever they do in politics shall be examined by Allah on Judgment day.
He said making propaganda of lies and deception, reneging on promises to the electorate and acts of corruption must not be downgraded as only worldly affair.
Sheikh Elliya made the call in response to a topic on One Big Country talk show on Gbangu FM: Is propaganda and other political shortfalls free in Judgment Day?
He added that the Prophet Muhammad had said that “the disbeliever perceives their sin as a mere fly that sit on the nose and is shoo away but the believer looks at every sin like a huge mountain”.
He cautioned party communicators that they should not repair the faults of their party into just or spoil the truth from their opponent to faults just to gain political favor because it awaits them in the hereafter where the punishment would be unbearable.
Sheikh Elliya added that the electorates also have a share of the blame and would have themselves and the politicians punished in the hereafter because the electorate wish to hear good vibes and huge promises from a politician before giving them the mandate and the politician will give them what they want to hear and renege upon the promises after gaining the power.
He advised electorates to rather vote for the best candidates rather than the best maker of huge promises.
